All IFC Colloidal Silver Generators are designed to produce high quality colloidal silver with a particle size from 1 to 15 nanometers. The built-in constant current limiter prevents current runaway ensuring the smallest particle size possible. The most important factors that contribute to the quality of colloidal silver are 1) quality distilled water. 2) Pure silver electrodes and 3) proper current limiting across the electrodes. Yes, you can make colloidal silver with 3 batteries and some wire or you can use light bulbs, a simple resistor and other gimmicks to “limit current” but these don't limit the current properly, and unless you watch your brew very closely, these units will provide you with a solution consisting of particles too large to be bio-available. They are a great "MacGyver" option in a pinch, for topical application or for a severely limited budget, but not the best option for consistent high-quality colloidal silver. Ideal current density to the electrodes is 1 milliampere per square inch of submersed silver anode (+ electrode) with a maximum of 2 milliamps per square inch. Our units are engineered to maintain that current density regardless of the conductivity of the solution by limiting the output current to a maximum of 2.3 ma. using a junction field effect transistor circuit to ensure that the current never rises above the set limit no matter how conductive the solution becomes.  Many manufacturers use simple 5 cent resistors to “limit current” and technically a resistor does that.  However, as the conductivity of the solution increases so will the current across the electrodes – even with a resistor inline. The slower the solution is processed, the smaller the particles, the greater the surface area and the more bio-available the silver in the solution is. In other words, slower is better . Our units are designed to go low and slow providing you with a quart or a gallon of high-quality colloidal silver at a time. We offer a 1-year warranty on all of our colloidal silver generators. If it doesn’t work, we will fix or replace it. Our units are sold with pure silver electrodes to get you started. Replacement silver is readily available online, just be certain that when you purchase replacement electrodes that they are pure 99.99% silver.  NEVER use sterling silver. We recommend purchasing 12 inches of 12 or 14 ga. pure silver wire or ½× 6-inch pure silver sheet electrodes when the time comes to replace the silver. We recommend using a quart jar to process your colloidal silver. However, you can process half or a full gallon at a time.  just remember that we go low and slow so a gallon can take up to 72 hours to process.
